Low Testosterone

Low T? – You Are Not Alone

Are you feeling sluggish, crabby, forgetful, or having trouble getting an erection?  Decreased energy and sex drive doesn’t always need to be a sign of aging, it could also be low testosterone.  Low testosterone happens earlier than you think!  Did you know that as early as the age of 30 you begin to lose testosterone?  In fact, it will drop an average of 1% each year after the age of 30!  It is important to talk to your health care provider about all of the symptoms you are having.

Most men now are aging faster than their fathers!  Over the last few decades, the average testosterone levels in men have declined significantly for all ages across the world. Between 1987 to 2004, average testosterone levels in men had dropped by almost 17%, causing declining hormone levels to affect men at a younger age.  The impacts from the environment continue to speed up this process.  Testosterone levels in men peak during puberty and begin to drop off around 30 years of age with most men experiencing the beginning of Andropause around their 40s.

What is Andropause?

“Andras” in Greek means human male and “pause” in Greek a cessation; so literally “andropause” is defined as a syndrome associated with a decrease in sexual satisfaction or a decline in a feeling of general well-being with low levels of testosterone in older men.

While testosterone levels in all men drop as they age, symptoms of Low T vary from man to man, most men start to feel the effects as early as 40 years of age.  Up to 5 million men suffer from Low T – while only 5-10% seek treatment.   There is no longer a reason not to recognize the man in the mirror!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE.  Sexual health topics no longer need to be a taboo subject for men. There are more options than ever to get you back to feeling like your younger self.  Testosterone Replacement Therapy isn’t just for the bedroom either!  Low Testosterone can affect your health in several way, including lack of motivation/energy, weight gain, poor sleep, joint pain – and the list goes on.

Could you have Low-T?  Why not take the quiz and find out?
